Since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic, supplies of mission-critical personal protective equipment (PPE) have been in high demand. Through its donation to an organization called Direct Relief, the National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM) is helping equip doctors and nurses with these life-saving medical resources to care for the world's most vulnerable people.
“We want to help put resources where they are needed the most,” said Laurie McCartney, President, Global Fitness & Wellness Solutions, Ascend Learning. “The healthcare workers are risking their own lives to save others. We are proud to put our support behind Direct Relief and the important work they are doing to help the heroes on the frontline.”
Since the beginning of the year, Direct Relief has provided over $1.2 billion in medical aid, 400 million doses of medicine and 13 million pounds of medical supplies.
